"Into Tomorrow - LIVE at CES, Orlando"

May 1996
Technology at it's finest; technology at it's newest - that is CES ! The Consumer Electronics Show at Orlando hosted 250 exhibitors who were showing the hottest in new electronics. One exhibitor after another would knock your socks off or bowl you over with exciting and dazzling equipment for your home. Toshiba, IBM, Vivitar, Pioneer, Xantech, Molex, AT&T, Curtis Mathes, and many more companies were there showing what soon will be in the stores for all to buy. The two big items, far and away, were home automation and the sensational DVD. A standard CD-size, five inch disk with gigs and gigs of audio and video recorded on it - that is DVD!
The Dish Network, hosted the broadcast team of "Into Tomorrow". The live Saturday broadcast featured many of the exhibitors at the CES. Veteran announcer Dave Graveline took his listening audience into the tomorrow of consumer electronics. When the subject of Panasonic’s new flat screen TV came up and was actually on display; Dave was panting with delight. He further mentioned that the cost was going to be somewhere over $2000, and the release date was more than a year away. The DISH Network people provided space on their main operations desk for the network radio equipment. Each Saturday at 10 AM ET, Dave Graveline discusses high tech consumer products and services via an ISDN line to the satellite uplink. "Into Tomorrow" was the only program to broadcast live from the Orlando CES.
