XLink Cellular Bluetooth Gateway
The XLink connects your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone with a landline phone without the need for telephone service at home. All you need is a good cell
phone signal! You can receive and make calls with the XLink. If your handset has a caller ID screen, you’ll be able to see the caller’s info.
The XLink is easy to set-up and use. You first have to pair it with your cell phone. Works just like pairing a Bluetooth headset device. It can pair
with up to 3 phones, but only works with one device at a time. You then connect the XLink to a wired or cordless phone using an RJ11 cable (aka
telephone cord). Make sure you keep your cell phone near the XLink to get a better connection. You also can’t go too far away from the XLink with
your handset or the call may drop. Remember, you’re dealing with Bluetooth and it doesn’t go very far. Average is about 30 feet.
The best part about using the XLink is that you can take advantage of those “nights and weekend” minutes that you barely use. I get about 5000
and only use about 300 – you know what I’m talking about! I have to admit I’m excited about this device, but do have to point out that it comes with
a price. The XLink retails at around 160 bucks. A bit on the pricey side, but it can save you a telephone bill. I many people who no longer have a
phone line at home because they make all their calls on their cell phones. Overall, it's a good solution to tether your cell phone with a regular
handset at home or the office.
