Tired of forgetting important events or task? Here's something that might help you get organized. "Remember The Milk" is a FREE online
task manager. You set-up a FREE account at rememberthemilk.com and then begin to add your tasks. It's pretty easy! You click on “Add Task”
and give it a name. Then, assign a due date, length of task, location, URL, and other normal task options. You can save the location of your
task on your account, and it uses Google Maps to pinpoint the place.
One of the neatest features is that you can share your tasks with others. For example, parents can remind their children to do
their chores or remind them about soccer practice. Wives/Husbands can remind their significant others about getting milk after work or
beer for the party. Another cool feature is that you can access your tasks offline. This feature enables you to manage your tasks even when
your computer is not connected to the Internet. To use the offline features, you have to install the Google Gears plug-in for your browser.
You can set customizable reminders. It can be via email, SMS text, and instant messenger like AIM, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk,
ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Skype and Yahoo!. The instant message reminder didn’t work for me using MSN Messenger.
But you can give it a
try and maybe have better luck.
There are some extra features that require a small fee, but it’s mostly free. For example, they have a web app for iPhones,
iTouch and Blackberries, but you have to upgrade to the Pro version for $25 a year. If you’re a little old-fashioned, you can
print your entire list or a handy weekly planner which shows upcoming tasks. You can also view your tasks on your calendar with
Apple iCal or Google Calendar. Let us know if you give “Remember The Milk” a try.
