Into Tomorrow Product Spotlight with Rob Almanza

DTVPal DVR - We’re less than ONE month away from the DTV cutover! We’ve shown you our favorite DTV converter boxes, but this time we have one that’s also a DVR.

Product Spotlight: DTVPal DVR

What we love most about the DTVPal DVR is the fact that you won’t have to keep recording to those old VHS tapes and you’ll be DTV ready at the same time! DVR boxes are no longer limited to only satellite and digital cable subscribers.

Setup is not tricky at all. Just plug in your off-air antenna (rabbit ears or outdoor antenna) and connect the DTVPal DVR to your TV, similar to how your VCR may be connected right now.

Using an on-screen program guide, you can select and record up to 150 of your favorite standard definition shows and up to 30 hours of high-definition programming – all off-air and FREE! There’s also a “Program Search” feature. You can search by Title, Keyword, or Themes. By the way, the program guide is free, so you won’t need to pay any subscription fees. You’ll know “what’s on” 7 days in advance. Remember, you’ll also be able to pause live TV, rewind and playback recorded shows.

The DTVPal DVR is not coupon-eligible because coupon-eligible converter boxes cannot include enhanced features like a DVR. However, DISH Network is offering a $50 discount on the DTVPal DVR, so you pay one-time price of $250. No subscription fees!

Are you ready for the DTV cutover on June 12, 2009? Send us an email.
