Logitech DiNovo Mini

This palm-sized mini keyboard is a very neat device. It’s easy to use and fits in your hand. Backlighting makes text entry easy in a dark environment, like in your home theater. This remote gives you an extra excuse to continue being a couch-potato!

We like the dual-purpose click pad. By turning a little switch, you can have mouse-like control (point and click) or directional controls to navigate through menus. It connects to your device via USB and also has Bluetooth capabilities. The DiNovo is compatible with PCs only, including Windows Vista and XP. You can also use it for with your PlayStation3. Available under $150.

WowWee Rovio
This is one of the coolest webcam/robots we saw at CES. It’s a three-wheeled robot with onboard GPS, using NorthStar technology. Rovio will let you see, what it sees and communicate with anyone in its surroundings. This Fall, Rovio will give you a taste of the amazing future that is to come in telepresence technology. It will be priced under $300. Dave Graveline interviewed Davin Sufer from WowWee at CES Unveiled, a press event before the main show opened. Check out the video by clicking here.

This mask allows swimmers to record underwater video and take pictures hands-free. It’s an actual camera with an image quality of 5 megapixels! You can use this underwater mask in a pool or the ocean while snorkeling. After taking pictures and video, you can transfer the media to your computer with a USB cable. Software is included to edit photos and video. Then, you can share them with anyone.

The camera has 16 MB of internal memory, but can be expanded with a Micro SD Card. It is set for distribution in Spring 2008 for less than 100 bucks. Dave Graveline (pictured above) wore the mask during an interview at CES. Demo it at LiquidImage.

ScanSnap S300
One of the smallest scanners we’ve seen that can do so much. Don’t let its size fool you. The ScanSnap S300 can scan both sides of a page at once. It produces searchable PDFs at up to 8 pages a minute, in full color. The S300 is USB-powered, so you don’t have to deal with bulky adapters, making it very portable. You can scan documents, receipts, bills, invoices, and business cards anywhere you want. It automatically checks for blank pages and deletes them. Priced under $300 from Fujitsu.
Optimus

What could be cooler than a dynamic keyboard where each key surface is a tiny OLED screen? The Optimus Maximus is the biggest revolution in computer input since the ergonomic keyboard was introduced. It’s a keyboard that can be instantly reconfigured so that the keys reflect their special tasks. Remember the old days of keyboard templates, cut-outs, and stickers? Those are no longer necessary if you use one of these. Priced at $1560.

iTornado
The Tornado has made a comeback on Dave’s Top Ten! However, this time you can use it for Macs, not just PCs. zCam
The ZCam is a low cost, real time, depth sensing video camera for gaming and entertainment applications. The size of a webcam, the ZCam is not yet available, but set to hit the market in late 2008 for under $100. This real-time sensing camera can revolutionize gaming further than the successful Nintendo Wii; and its applications in the automotive and robotic markets are promising. Participating in a live boxing match with a character on a TV screen turned out to be very entertaining while touring their booth at CES.
zBoost
Tired of standing by a window to get better reception on your cell phone? The zP (short for zPersonal) from zBoost extends a cell zone for a single user in dorms, hotels, homes or offices. Its compact size and relatively no set-up make this device portable and easy to use. Just plug in its adapter to an electrical outlet and its mini antenna for signal. zP is dual band, so it works with almost all phones and carriers, increasing signal strength for voice and data. However, it doesn’t work with Nextel phones. Visit the zBoost website for more details.
3D Vest
The 3rd Space Vest is a gaming vest with a real-life feel, ideal for first-person shooter games. It lets you get in the game and feel whatever attacks you and your surroundings. For example, if you get shot in the upper chest, you’ll feel a hit in your upper chest through the vest. It’s the same for all areas covered by the vest. Visit TN Games for more info.
